MICHAEL BROWN AND THE “WHITE PRIVILEGE” EXHIBIT

I\’m sure you have heard the term “White Privilege” recently.  It is the left\’s latest foray into rationalizing its overtly racist strategy of takking every White person as being racist, solely on the basis of his/her skin color.

Here\’s an interesting component of this strategy, courtesy of Julie Unruh\’s article at WGN-Chicago\’s web site:

An art exhibit featuring the controversial police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri is on display in Bronzeville.

The exhibit is in Chicago for one month and is raw, provocative, and timely.

The artist, Ti-Rock Moore, a white woman from New Orleans, says the images represent white privilege in America and how it negatively affects the black community now and has for generations.

The owner of Gallery Guichard, Andre Guichard, calls the exhibit “courageous” and hopes it sparks dialogue and breaks down barriers. He hopes “it creates something positive,” he says, “from incredibly negative images.”

It\’s hard to know where to begin on this one.  I\’ll just go in order of appearance:

-There has never been any evidence that the shooting and killing of Michael Brown by Police Officer Darren Wilson was a racial incident.  No one – not even the witnesses who concocted that fraudulent “Hands up – don\’t shoot” claim (which was debunked by the DOJ\’s own autopsy) – claimed that Wilson made any racial comment about Brown being a Black person.  And, in 6 years on the police force in Ferguson, a town that is 2/3 Black, not one complaint had ever been lodged against Wilson for racism…or, for that matter, anything else.  Therefore, the entire premise of Brown\’s inclusion in this exhibit is false.

– “Timely”, Ms. Unruh?  What is “timely” about this?  When I see a word like that tossed in, I get the impression that you are tacitly telling us you approve of/endorse this exhibit.  Is that your idea of neutral reporting?

-I would love an explanation from Ti-Rock Moore (that appears to actually be her name, by the way) as to how Michael Brown\’s inclusion in her exhibit in any way shows White privilege.  And while she\’s at it, I\’d like an explanation of how, based on the working definition of “White Privilege”, any White person can be anything but privileged and any non-White person can be anything but oppressed.  In doing so, please include an essay on why Black people from countries like Haiti risk their lives to bypass other Black countries and desperately try to get to the USA, the home country of this “White Privilege she\’s talking about.  A word or two about the many people who emigrate from Africa, and the waiting list of others who want to, would also be helpful.

-Finally, I would like to thank gallery owner Andre Guichard for calling a left wing attack on White people “courageous”.  Yep, that certainly takes a lot of bravery.  Heck, it\’s right up there with bravely declaring that there is a war on women.  Amazing Ms. Moore and Mr. Guichard haven\’t been arrested or shot in the street yet.

As you might have guessed, I am less than taken with this exhibit, and with the one-size-fits-all racial premise of “White Privilege”.

How about you?
