Many years ago, when I attended Saint Louis University, we non-Catholic students were required to take a course called “Human Conduct”. We called it “Conversion I”.
In Human Conduct we learned all about Catholicism. And one of the things we learned was that, to Catholics, the Pope was the Vicar of Christ (for you new testament fans, that designation is based on John 21:16-17).
Though I myself am not Catholic, I respect the Catholic Church and respect its belief about the Pope………
……for religious matters.
But in my admittedly limited research on the bible, I cannot recall ever seeing him designated as Vicar Of Environmental Political Correctness.
The Pope is about to issue an encyclical, advance copies of which have been leaked, which addresses climate change, in which he will exhort us to stop whatever man-made activities he thinks is causing such change. I say “he” thinks, because, again, I can\’t find anything about this in the bible.
My request to the Pope: please stick to religion.
