DEMOCRAT “CIVILITY”. HERE WE GO AGAIN

If there are two things that you can virtually guarantee during a political campaign, they are:

1) Republicans are going to be nailed, good and hard, by mainstream media when they say nasty things about Democrats, and

2) Democrats will be nailed less hard by those same mainstream media – maybe not even at all – when they do the same about Republicans.

With this in mind, let\’s see how mainstream media handle these comments about just-announced presidential candidate Marco Rubio, which were made today by Debbie Wasserman-Schultz during the left wing-friendly Jose Diaz-Balart\’s show on (where else?) MSNBC:

“I see him as a flat earth society worshiper. They\’re going to try to portray him as some kind of new and fresh face. He\’s nothing more than the same old tired Republican policies that he\’s embraced. He’s called increasing the minimum wage silly. He has suggested that paycheck fairness for women is a waste of – fight for paycheck fairness is a waste of time. He supports increasing taxes on the middle-class and his tax plan that he released is, again, just a replication of more of the same. Tax cuts for the wealthiest most fortunate Americans. So if you want to put what is essentially a prune and package some tinsel around it, that does not make you fresh and new…

“…a guy who says – who represents the state of Florida, who lives in South Florida, can see the flooding that occurs on Ocean Drive when there is a huge amount of rain, to continue to be a climate change denier is not fresh and new.”

That nasty enough for you?

And keep in mind that this is not some obscure Democrat from Nowheresville, it is the head of the Democratic National Committee.

Incidentally, when there\’s flooding on Ocean Drive it is because the sewers back up. Maybe poor sewer drainage is due to climate change, but I\’m not very confident of it.

What I am very confident of, however, is that media are going to mention this only sporadically – and, for the most part, give Wasserman Schultz a free pass; maybe even help her out by ignoring the nastiness while agreeing with what she was nasty about.

Ok, let\’s give it a day or two and see what happens.
