Today\’s quote comes to us from a rich source of “Huh? Wha?” comments – Melissa Harris-Perry, the hard left flyweight who toils, somewhat anonymously based on her ratings, for (who else?) MSNBC.
Ms. Harris-Perry had this to say about President Obama\’s determined effort to normalize relations with the freedomless Communist hellhole called Cuba:
“On the one hand, it is great to reopen these relationships. On the other hand, I worry about American tourists and the ways we can sometimes be a plague on the rest of the world, particularly in these nations that become high-tourist economies. And I\’m wondering if there\’s a downside to our economic ties opening up with Cuba, for Cuba!”
Huh? Wha?
Think about it. Cuba, which has spent the last 54 years telling us that the only reason it is not a prosperous country is lack of free access to/from the USA, including its markets and its tourist trade, would – in the eyes of Melissa Harris-Perry – be a potential plague to Cuba. Why? Wellllll, because of the tourist trade. That\’s why. Y\’see, we have “ways”.
Can I get another Huh? Wah?
I award Melissa Harris-Perry Quote Of The Day honors today, for the same reason I have in the past: because she gives us the entertainment value of asinine comments like this one.
I\’d be more concerned if anyone out there in TV Land were watching………
