Take heart, New Yorkers. You may not have the most ludicrous Mayor of a major city in the world.
Yeah, I know bill de blasio has made it clear that he prefers left wing protesters over cops. And that he didn\’t have a word of condemnation they chanted their demand for dead cops. And he has made a point of consorting with the execrable racist/Blacksupremacist/anti-Semite/tax cheat/serial deadbeat al Sharpton.
But there is competition. Read the following excerpt from Roger Yu\’s article at USA Today and see for yourself:
ParisMayor Anne Hidalgo told CNN Tuesday that she may sue Fox News becausethe network “insulted” the city with its coverage of “no-gozones” that are supposedly only for Muslim residents.
Suchzones don\’t exist and Fox News has repeatedly apologizedfor the errors.
“Whenwe\’re insulted, and when we\’ve had an image, then I think we\’ll haveto sue, I think we\’ll have to go to court, in order to have thesewords removed,” CNN quoted Hidalgo as saying to the network\’sChristiane Amanpour. “The image of Paris has been prejudiced,and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced.”
A news network puts out an erroneous report. It then corrects the mistake and apologizes, on-air, several times. But that\’s not good enough: this genius figures the entire city is “insulted” and is thinking about suing.
You want ludicrous? Try that on for size.
I have a question for Mayor Hidalgo: should Parisians sue her every time she does not make good on a campaign promise? Because I\’ll bet body parts she doesn\’t apologize every time that happens.
The truth? Comparatively speaking, bill de blasio is still on top. But this little snippet of idiocy puts Anne Hidalgo in the running – and who knows what she\’ll come up with next.
Whoops, I guess I\’ll be named in that lawsuit too.
