Here is the beginning of an article by someone calling him/herself “Yellow Dog Yankee”, who writes for the hard left web site, politicususa.com.
AnMSNBC UP showpanel on Saturday gleefully recounted Mitt Romney\’s tentative movestoward a third White House run. “What is he thinking?” isone way to summarize the discussion. “He is delusional” isanother. Not one panelist could imagine a scenario under whichRomney could win, but each was highly entertained by the idea.
Pundits, bloggers and tweeters figuratively (literally in Rachel Maddow\’scase) are rubbing their hands together and declaring how much funthis election is going to be. They play and replay the 2012 debateswith their clown car, $10,000 bets, 9-9-9 economic plans and oopsmoments. Debates out of which, we seem to forget, a candidatedid emerge who won 48 percent of the vote while running a perfectlyimperfect campaign.
Itis time that the left started taking this election seriously, alongwith Romney and Jeb Bush and the rest, even those we view as stupid, misogynist, and out of touch wing nuts.
Romneyhas the fire and is not a stupid man. He has probably spenthours watching videos of every 2012 debate, speech, and pressconference and though he may be unable to change his wooden deliverydon\’t count on any 47 percent or “I don\’t care about poorpeople” screw-ups this time around. Maybe the UPpanel finds his candidacy amusing, but by then his chance for thenomination will be better than 50/50.
Yellow Dog Yankee obviously is not taken with Mr. Romney as a potential President (I have left out some of his riper sarcasms: you can use the link I\’ve provided and see them all). But he makes an excellent point.
Mitt Romney is nobody\’s fool. Four years ago, he came within 3% of unseating an incumbent President. And much of what he campaigned on at that time has come to pass – which makes for a compelling campaign story in 2016.
If Mitt Romney were to run against the accomplishment-less, gaffe-prone Hillary Clinton, my money would be on Romney. And if Hillary Clinton is not the candidate, which Democrat alternative would give Romney more of a problem? (Ironically, I can name a couple, but they\’d never survive the Democrat primaries).
Mitt Romney may not be the best candidate out there, and you may not agree with him on every issue (I certainly don\’t). But he has spent a lifetime achieving and succeeding.
That\’s not the kind of guy you count out.

UPDATE: For commenter “shar” (and anyone else with a similar question about what Romney campaigned on that came to pass), here\’s a little video for you:
Now…would anyone like to provide a list of Hillary Clinton accomplishments – positive ones, that is?
Thanks: I\’ll wait………..
