Bruce Thornton, writing for frontpagemag.com, is an angry man. He is angry at the hypocrisy of the Paris march, on an number of different levels – all of which I invite you to read about by clicking here.
He starts with President Obama, and then goes on from there – as you can see by reading his first paragraph:
Commentatorson both the left and the right are slamming President Obama formissing the march in Paris last Sunday. Even a stalwart courtier likeCNN\’s Jake Tapper sniffed that he was “ashamed” that the U.S.was represented by an ambassador–one, by the way, who got herappointment by bundling money for the president\’s politicalcampaigns. But who\’s surprised at this latest display of diplomaticincompetence? This is the same president who gave the queen ofEngland an I-Pod loaded with his speeches, banished a bust ofChurchill from the White House, bowed low to the Saudi King, blew offMargaret Thatcher\’s funeral, and insulted on an open mike the primeminister of Israel, our most important ally in the Middle East.Missing the march is just Obama being Obama.
Aside from the fact that I don\’t consider Jake Tapper a “courtier” for President Obama, my only quibble with what you just read is Mr. Thornton not mentioning that the collection of speeches Mr. Obama gave to Queen Elizabeth was in a format that is not used in Europe – so even if she actually gave a damn about listening to them (a dubious proposition) she would have needed new equipment to do so.
Do yourself a favor and read the entire piece. You won\’t regret it.
