It is not important enough to be the Quote Of The Day. But it is pathetic enough to be blogged about.
Awwwww. Poor Martin O\’Malley.
The former two-term Governor of Maryland is hurt – hurt, I tell you – by his mean, unfeeling constituents in usually deep-Blue Maryland.
Why? Because they declined to elect his personal choice as next Governor; Mr. O\’Malley\’s Lt. Governor, Anthony Brown. Instead, they elected Larry Hogan, who – even worse – is a (gasp!) Republican.
Mr. O\’Malley\’s own words:
“Ican tell you my feelings were hurt. We had done a lot of really good thingsin Maryland and in the end, you did not hear much about it during thecampaign,”
Wow. Superman had nothing on this Man Of Steel. It\’s a wonder he was able to bear up under the heavy attacks tossed at him and his chosen successor by that well-known bastion of hardline Republicanism, the Baltimore Su…oh, wait.
Can you imagine how strong a President O\’Malley would be? I can just hear him after congress votes down one of his proposals:
“I\’m crushed. Just crushed. Please, no questions. I can\’t. Maybe I\’ll be able to talk tomorrow. How could they do that when I offered such good things. And how could media be so against me? I guess it\’s the cross we Democrats bear”.
Note to Martin O\’Malley: don\’t worry about that scenario ever playing out. You have as much chance of being elected President as I do of being named regional director of the new black panther party.
