OBAMACARE NIMBY

NIMBY – Not In My Back Yard – is an acronym used to describe the hypocritical attitude of people who are fine with certain things happening….as long as they are not the ones those things happen to.

With that in mind, read the following excerpt from Brendan Bordelon\’s article at nationalreview.com:

Harvardfaculty members are apoplectic over changes to theiruniversity-provided health-care plans related to Obamacare -after Harvard researchers spent years promoting the AffordableCare Act.

TheNewYork Timesreportsthat faculty members voted unanimously in November to oppose aslight increase in out-of-pocket costs Harvard proposed for theplans. The university administration cited the need to confrontthe “added costs” caused by Obamacare provisions. Despite theprotests, the university enacted the increase in January.

Thathasn\’t stopped faculty from waxing apocalyptic about the change.”Deplorable, deeply regressive, a sign of the corporatization ofthe university” is how classics professor Richard Thomas describedit. “It\’s equivalent to taxing the sick,” said economicsprofessor Jerry Green. “I don\’t think there\’s any government inthe world that would tax the sick.”

How\’s that for NIMBY?  Pretty much dead-center, wouldn\’t you say?

In the immortal words of the famous Harvard non-attendee, Ronald McDonald:  “I\’m lovin\’ it”.
