Amazing, isn\’t it, how much racism emanates from people who profess to be against racism?
I\’ve written those words many times in here. And, as the email exchange between Sony head Amy Pascal and Producer Scott Rudin continues to boil, Juan Williams – no stranger to this kind of racism – has written an excellent column about it.
A few salient excerpts:
Pascalis one of Hollywood\’s most powerful people and certainly at the topof the movie industry\’s list of most influential women. She musthave a penetrating intellect and tremendous business savvy.
Sohow is it possible for her to think that a 53-year-old, Harvardtrained constitutional lawyer who is now president of the UnitedStates, is to be solely defined by his race?
Pascaland Rudin, on their way to meet the president at a Democraticfundraiser, have no hesitation about painting Obama into thislimited, one-dimensional personality. What they have revealed is howdemeaning and patronizing their liberal minds can be even when theman is the leader of the nation.
Iimagine they do hire some black people. But those black people haveto color inside the lines of what white liberals think is the rightkind of black person. Black conservatives have no chance in thatworld.
Blackintellectuals and even black left wingers have no chance either. Butthat is a different story. In the restrictive confines of the whiteliberal world they would be seen as threatening black people.
Iknow from personal experience at National Public Radio that whiteliberals can be very intolerant if they suspect they are dealing witha black person who is not afraid from depart from liberal orthodoxy. In my case I was fired and afterwards described as a bigot in need ofa psychiatric care.
InPascal\’s moment of crisis she is, even today, sticking to the gameof racial boxes by taking calls from Al Sharpton as if he is thepresident of black America. Sharpton will no doubt end up with acontract in exchange for not staging phony demonstrations orchallenging Sony on their lack of honesty about race.
Thank you, Mr. Williams. You are spot-on correct. Especially that reference to al sharpton, which is as close to perfect as it gets.
sharpton, with copious – and utterly disgraceful – help from the Democrat Party and a kiss-butt media, has become the single most visible Black symbol in the country (I exclude President Obama because, as President, he is charged with representing all people, not just Blacks).
A racist, Black supremacist, anti-Semite, serial deadbeat, with a rich history of pouring gasoline on racial flames, is the go-to person for Blacks? WHY?
Can someone – anyone – tell me how sharpton\’s ascension to where Martin Luther King used to be will do anything but polarize us further?
