A STUDY IN HOW QUICKLY FORTUNES CAN CHANGE….

Suppose you were a window washer, working on the 11th floor of abuilding, and you fell from your scaffold.

If someone could interview you on the way down, and asked if youconsidered this your lucky day, I\’m guess you would probably respondin the negative.

But would you be right?

From CBSNews – San Francisco:

Awindow washer remains in critical but stable condition after fallingfrom the roof of an 11-story building onto a moving car at Californiaand Montgomery in San Francisco Friday morning. The man whose carbroke the victim\’s fall says he is praying for him to survive.

Thewindow washer and a co-worker were adjusting their cables from theroof while their working platform lay on the ground. Something wentawry and the man ended up falling 11 stories onto the car, completelycaving in the back part of the Toyota Camry\’s roof.

Thedriver of the car, Mohammad Alcozai said he heard something veryloud, felt a hard impact and stopped. He thought he had hit a biker. When he got out, he saw the victim on the ground, shaking, completelydisoriented, but very much alive.

I certainly wish the unnamed window washer a full physical recovery….as I wish the Driver, Mr. Alcozai, a full insurance recovery (though it will have to be from the window washing company\’s policy, since this is not covered by car insurance).

The moral of this story? For the window washer, it is that, in our fast-paced world, things canchange in a hurry. So even when things are going downward fast, younever know: something may come along to cushion the blow.

As for Mohammad Alcozai?  Never be complacent, because even when you\’re moving along without a care in the world, the roof can suddenly cave in.

And regarding Mr. Alcozai\’s car?  The current advertising slogan for Toyota Camry is “let\’s go places”.  But, somehow, I doubt that they were thinking specifically of California and Montgomery.
