Today\’s Quote Of The Day came during an interview on the radio network News One For Black America, thus to a primarily Black audience.
Here it is:
“I give everyone full permission to eat some fried chicken after theyvote only after – if you haven\’t voted…I do talk about health. But I thinkthat a good victory for Democrats on Tuesday, you know, should berewarded with some fried chicken.”
Holy excrement. Could that be more of a racial stereotype?
Hey, why stop there? Why not add in some collards on the side, wash it down with the potlikker, and finish with a nice juicy wedge of watermelon? If you\’re going to use low-down stereotypes, why not go all the way?
Now: who said this? Who provided this ugly quote?
It was that staunch defender of healthy eating; the woman responsible for millions of children discarding the lunches served in their school cafeterias and making a beeline for the nearest fast food place instead.
That\’s right. It was Michelle Obama.
Suppose that, say, Michele Bachmann made that comment. Not only would her career in public life be over, but she\’d be lucky to be able to go out in public.
But the first lady of the United States – the Black first lady? No problem at all. If you vote for our guys, racist stereotypes and unhealthy eating are just fine and dandy.
Congratulations Ms. Obama. Quote Of The Day honors are yours. Not even a distant second place. You win going away…
