Susan Rice, one of the Obama administration\’s paid liars, was interviewed by Matt Lauer on this morning\’s Today Show.
She earned her keep.
Why do I say this? Well, here is just one exchange between Lauer and Rice. I doubt I have to go any further to give you your answer:
MATTLAUER: Think of the things we\’re talking about here, with thekhorasan group, with ISIS and the territory they\’ve taken in Iraq, with the threat to airline travel internationally, with beheadingsthat we\’re seeing on camera; what happened to the days when theadministration was able to say it felt confident that we had dealt acrippling blow to al qaeda and islamic militants?
SUSANRICE: Well, matt, understand what we\’ve been saying. We\’ve beenfocused for many years as you know on al qaeda in Afghanistan andPakistan, what we call al qaeda core. And that element of al qaedawhich is the one that hatched the 9/11 plot and executed it has beensubstantially degraded and doesn\’t, at this stage, pose nearly thesame type of threat that it used to. What has happened, though, overyears, is that al qaeda has metastasized. Imagine a cancer that hadan original tumor. Elements of rthe cells of that tumor have movedto places like the Arabian peninsula, Yemen, parts of Africa,Somalia, and what we call the Sahel region “molly”(?), and now, also to Syria……
How can she say this with a straight face?
Remember 2012 re-election campaign – and afterwards? Remember all those times when President Obama told us that al qaeda had been “virtually decimated”, all those indications that because “I got bin laden” (as if he led the charge, rifle in hand), al qaeda was a shell of its former self, barely able to function?
Well, now that it is clear that al Qaeda and its many offshoots are alive, hale and hearty, and far stronger than they were on 9/11….
…President Obama has sent out one of his senior liars, National Security Advisor Susan Rice, to feed us the new party line: that “well, we did that to part of al Qaeda. We didn\’t say we got all the groups that sprung directly from al qaeda, as we were doing it”.
Is that your understanding of what President Obama told us? Do you recall him saying “well, we virtually decimated one major part of the terrorist network, but many others are in operation and now we have to focus on them”?
These people lie. They lie all the time. They lie as casually as kids talk about school. And, as Susan Rice demonstrated this morning, they are still at it, hot and heavy.
One other thing: when I heard Rice talk about the Sahel region “molly”(which you can hear by using the link I\’ve provided above, and going to about 2:58 of the video) I did a double-take. I know about the Sahel region: it is a large area of West Africa, which cuts across a number of countries. But that “molly” at the end?
So I googled “Sahel region molly”. And it wasn\’t there. But here is one of the entries on google\’s first page:
-
salem-news.com/articles/december282010/
sahel-dunes-mt.php Cached Dec 28, 2010 ยท Putting a Stop to the Spreading Sands of the Sahel Molly Theobald Special to Salem-News.com. Once the dunes have been halted with hand-woven fences, the …
As you can see, it mentions the Sahel Region, and then references Molly Theobald, the writer whose article it links to. But “Sahel Molly” is in bold print.
Is it possible – could it be – that Rice didn\’t know squat about the Sahel Region, so she googled it, saw “Sahel Molly” in bold print, thought that was a description of the region, and then, from complete ignorance, played it back on the Today Show?
Tell you what: If there really is a Sahel Region “Molly” – even though it appears to be unknown at google – I retract my suspicion. But if there isn\’t? Then this is another instance of Rice just barfing out something, anything, to defend her master Barack Obama, even if she doesn\’t have a clue of what she is talking about.
========================================
SAHEL REGION “MOLLY” UPDATE: Apparently there is a small commune (about 11 – 12,000 people) called “Sahel” in the country of Mali. It is conceivable that Rice was talking about it. But the wording of her comment – “What we call the Sahel Molly”, which has no hint that she is referencing a specific commune, clearly suggests otherwise. Plus, I googled “Sahel, Mali terrorism” and nothing about any terrorist action there came up. So my suspicion stands as written.
