Today’s quote comes to us from another U.S. Senator and presidential hopeful no one cares about, Kirsten Gillibrand.
Here is her unequivocal denunciation of the National Rifle Association (NRA):
“I think the most outrageous thing that’s happened to our democracy is how much fear and division and hatred has been spread. I think the NRA is the worst organization in this country for doing exactly that. They care more about their profits than the American people. They care more about selling guns to someone on the terror watch list or someone with grave mental illness or someone who has a violent criminal background. They’re against universal background checks.”
Now there’s a denunciation for you. One with real teeth. Boy, that Gillibrand sure hates those dirty bastards over there…
…except, as pointed out in David Rutz’s article for freebeacon.com, when Gillibrand was House member, the NRA gave her an A+ rating – which means she voted in favor of their positions all the time.
And her explanation for this 180 degree turnaround? From Mr. Rutz’s article:
Gillibrand pointed to her “rural” House district in the 2000s as the reason for her views before she quickly shifted once she was appointed to the U.S. Senate in 2009. She has compiled one of the Senate’s most liberal voting records.
Translation: “When being pro-NRA got me the votes, that’s what I was then. Now that being anti-NRA gets me the votes, that’s what I am now. What do I personally thing/what are my principles? What does that have to do with anything?”
I award Kirsten Gillibrand Quote Of The Day “honors” for showing us that, if she has any principles at all (which obviously is in doubt) they are irrelevant, because they will be subordinated to whatever political position will get her votes.
In other words, she is a Forrest Gump of political hackery who, like the movie’s feather, floats — to votes, regardless of what direction it takes her.
Maybe if word gets out to enough people, this will raise her all the way to, oh, 2%-3% in the polls…

You are to kind Sir! She clearly represents the anti-ammerican-filter (aaf) that must be applied to interpret this person. She is obviously talking from one or more of her favorite body cavities. (I don’t need to know which). As a life member of the NRA since the 1980s, this American organization understands and preserves our constitutional freedom. She probably has guns and a body guard for a number of reasons. The real danger she promotes is the ongoing brainwashing against our nation and the unbridled-democracy she dreams about.
