President Obama just made a speech before an American Legion convention.
I do not recall ever seeing an icier reception for a United States President in his own country than this one.
The few, grudging rounds of applause Mr. Obama got were only for mentions of veterans, and for the care they deserved from the VA. Every reference to anything he personally claimed to have accomplished – and, this being the Narcissist In Chief, there were plenty of references – was greeted with stone-cold silence…even when Mr. Obama waited in vain for the applause he clearly expected to come, but which did not.
Incredible. Embarrassing. Pathetic.
But how will media report it?

UPDATE: I watched NBC nightly news to see how they handled the Obama speech.
There was maybe 20 – 25 seconds of coverage – featuring a video of President Obama making one of the few comments that generated any applause at all…which was cut off at the beginning of the applause so you couldn\’t tell how sparse and short-lived it was.
My reaction? Given what I have come to expect from network news, I was not surprised at all.
