Aformer CIA officer said Thursday he has no doubt Islamic State (ISIS)sleeper cells are already planted on U.S. soil.
An unnamedU.S. intelligence official told CNN there\’s already an indication ofISIS sleeper cells in Europe that could target U.S. embassies andother American interests.
But former CIA officer Bob Baer toldthe network ISIS is already on this side of the Atlantic.
“Ihave been told with no uncertainty there are ISIS sleeper cells inthis country,” he said.
In several telephone conversations witha Reuters reporterover the past few months, Islamic State fighters suggest theirleader, Iraqi Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is planning something for theWest – and that attacks could take place through sleeper cells inboth Europe and the United States.
“The West areidiots and fools,” one fighter taunted, according to Reuters.”They think we are waiting for them to give us visas to go andattack them or that we will attack with our beards or even Islamicoutfits.
“They think they can distinguish us these days -they are fools and more than that they don\’t know we can play theirgame in intelligence. They infiltrated us with those who pretend tobe Muslims and we have also penetrated them with those who look likethem.”
Worried yet? I hope the answer is yes.
Let me end with a question: If the sleeper cells we are being told about are for real (and that certainly might be true), and they bide their time, striking after Barack Obama leaves office….
….who will you blame it on? The President in office at that time, or Mr. Obama, who never understood the nature and scope of their threat, then lied about it, and – as of this moment – has done almost nothing to stop it?
Just as media, and the many, many people they duped, were happy to blame President Bush for 9/11, despite its being facilitated by sleeper cells put in place before Bush ever saw the inside of the oval office?
And please don\’t tell me about the “August 6th memo, which told Bush it was coming and which he ignored”, because that is now, and has always been, a lie. READ the damn thing and see for yourself how non-specific it was about what kind of a threat there was, how an attack would take place and where it would take place.
