CNN has just put up its version of the wars/conflicts which have occurred since the founding of Israel.
You can read it by clicking here. But before you do, let me tell you that it, by a combination of misinformation and selective leaving out of events, it is a cesspool-full of BS that probably has hamas\’s and fatah\’s propagandists grinning from ear to ear.
Family issues intrude again today, so I do not have time to address everything that is wrong with this crap. But I promise I will tomorrow (and I\’m sure I will be far from the first to do so).
=======================
UPDATE: Despite the inappropriateness of blogging at this moment, I feel compelled to put up at least a few of the inaccuracies, outright lies and selective omissions CNN has insulted its readers with.
Among them:
In 1948, Israel was not given 75% of Palestine, because, in 1922, Jordan was created from 78% of Palestine. Israel, therefore, wound up with a fraction of the remaining 22% — not 75% of it either.
Most of the Arabs who left what became Israel did not “flee” at all. They willingly left because they were told by Arab leaders, and the grand mufti of Jerusalem – fresh from his support of hitler during World War II – that once the Arab armies drove the Jews into the sea they would be able to return as conquerors. That\’s a little something CNN somehow neglected to mention.
Similarly, CNN neglected to mention that, around the same time (post WWII) , at least as many Jews, possibly even more, were forced out of neighboring Arab lands, and fled to Israel because there was nowhere else for them to go. To CNN, these refugees – the real refugees – apparently do not count. Nor does CNN bother to mention that, while Israel took in every one of those refugees, the Arabs who left were not offered asylum by any of the 21 other Arab countries which existed at that time – not then and not now, even to this day.
In 1967, Israel did not strike first at Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. Egypt, Syria and Jordan all massed their armies on Israel\’s border. Egypt unilaterally closed the Strait of Hormuz, giving Israel no outlet to the sea – an overt act of war. And all three nations started broadcasting on their state controlled radio that the end for Israel was imminent. Evidently CNN does not see any of this as the start of the war. Do you?
There\’s plenty more to say about the crap that CNN has perpetrated on its readers, and what it tells us about the network\’s regard for Israel. I\’ll continue tomorrow.
