HIS NAME IS PETER BUTTIGIEG. NOT “MAYOR PETE”

It’s bad enough that we have to endure Robert Frances O’Rourke – Irish through and through – being called “Beto” as if he were our Latino pal.

But now, we have to endure “Mayor Pete” for South Bend, Indiana Mayor and presidential candidate Peter Buttigieg too?

I don’t know this man as “Pete”.  And, since I don’t live in South Bend, Indiana, he’s not a mayor to me.  So why should I call him either?

No, his name is Peter Buttigieg (pronounced either BOOT-edge-edge or, if you like irony, BOOT-a-judge).

And the only reason I don’t add that there is no way he is winning the presidential nomination, is that I said the same thing four years ago about Donald Trump.
