The Phantom Cherokee is at it again.
Elizabeth Warren, who has lied continually about her heritage and the fact that it facilitated her academic career, now is lying about the correlation of medical conditions and bankruptcy.
In her effort to move us to single-payer insurance, Warren cited an obviously fraudulent “study” over a decade ago that invented a claim – used by Barack Obama to sell ObamaCare – that half the bankruptcies in this country are due to medical expenses.
Paul Mirengoff, writing for powerlineblog.com, exposes this fraud completely. I urge you to read it – every word. But let me show you the part where Warren’s BS has too much of a stench for even the Washington Post to bear:
But now, the Washington Post reports that a new study shows Warren’s figures to be wildly off-the-mark. The new study finds that, in reality, hospitalizations cause only about 4 percent of bankruptcies among the non-elderly adults. This finding is based on hospitalizations that occurred several years before the federal Affordable Care Act expanded insurance coverage to millions of Americans.
What about the uninsured? The study estimates that hospitalizations were responsible for only about 6 percent of bankruptcies among this group.
Anyone can make a mistake and honest studies can reach varying conclusions. But the difference between 50 percent — later revised to 62 percent — and 4 percent can’t be the result of a mistake or honest variation. It has to be the result of manipulation — the manipulation Gail Heriot exposed way back in 2006.
My congratulations to Paul Mirengoff for exposing Elizabeth Warren as the lying fraud she seems every bit as comfortable being as her pal, Hillary Clinton.
And my congratulations are also given for the Washington Post for, its atypical trip out of Democrat/left territory to debunk a fraudulent claim in desperate need of debunking.
By offering congratulations, I of course, am forgetting the fact that investigative journalism on the Warren claim could have been done years ago, and maybe spared us the unworkable monstrosity that is ObamaCare. But better late, I suppose, than never.
Now, when will the rest of our wonderful “neutral” media nail Elizabeth Warren for her lie?
Let’s put it this way: don’t stay up late waiting…..
