THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN: DEMOCRAT EXPOSURE

Why is there a government shutdown?

Evidently, Democrat culpability in this mess is so blatantly obvious, that even many among the usually Democrat-friendly media couldn’t shunt it off as being exclusively on the Republican side.

Excerpted from Chris White’s article for dailycaller.com:

Many of the country’s top media outfits blamed the Democratic Party for allowing the government to shutdown instead of bridging a budget impasse with Republicans in the Senate.

“U.S. Shutdown Starts as Senate Democrats Block GOP Funding Plan” a Bloomberg headline blared early Saturday morning, referring to the Senate’s inability to agree on a variety of budgetary issues. The New York Times and AP chimed in with similar headlines.

Wait a minute..  Can this be? Can major media venues actually be ascribing blame to Democrats, not just Republicans, for a government shutdown?

Well, you see what I see. So I guess the answer is yes.

Is it about time this happened?  That’s another yes.

For once, Republicans aren’t taking 100% of the blame for what amounts to a dispute between the two parties.

And what will the result of this  unexpected media  assessment be?

My bet is that it will result in a quick cave-in by Democrats.

The reason is simple and obvious:  they not only will receive no political benefit from the shutdown, but actually might wind up bearing primary blame for the problems it creates.

In that regard, President Trump has already come out swinging, telling the public Democrats are more interested in protecting illegal immigrants than in providing legal citizens with full government services.

Will that resonate with voters?

Let me answer that one with a question: If you were a Democrat, would you want to find out?

Point made.

  • Seeing as illegal immigrants more than the economy is what got the current president elected, if I were a Democrat member of congress I would have never let it get this far.
