THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from Al Franken; the same Al Franken who has, several times now, “apologized” to LeeAnn tweeden for molesting and ridiculing her.

Years go, Franken made another “apology”. This one was to Leslie Stahl, after proposing a “comedy” skit in which she would be date raped by Andy Rooney.

Here is what Franken said about that apology in a subsequent book:

“To say I was sorry for writing a joke was to sell out my career, to sell out who I’d been my entire life,” he wrote in the book. “And I wasn’t sorry that I had written Porn-o-Rama or pitched that stupid Lesley Stahl joke at 2 in the morning. I was just doing my job.”

So tell me:  is his apology to LeeAnn Tweeden real? Will he be recanting that apology at a future date, the way he did about the apology to Leslie Stahl?

I award Al Franken Quote of the day “honors”, for being the unfunny, dishonest jerk that he always has been. It’s nice, I suppose, to see that some things never change.
