Is this the end of the bergdahl disgrace?
From an unbylined article at the Associated Press:
Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is expected to plead guilty soon to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy rather than face trial for leaving his Afghanistan post.
That’s according to two individuals with knowledge of the case.
They tell The Associated Press that Bergdahl will submit the plea later this month and sentencing will start Oct. 23. The individuals weren’t authorized to discuss the case and demanded anonymity.
The 31-year-old Bergdahl could face up to five years in prison on the desertion charge and a life sentence for misbehavior.
As you can see, this is not fact – at least not yet. It is drawn from anonymous sources.
But, if true, why would bergdahl suddenly admit to what he did? Why did he not admit to it for years?
Was it as simple as him stretching his freedom as long as he could, right up until the military trial?
If so, why was the military trial not held years ago?
And, if Hillary Clinton rather than Donald Trump had been elected, would it ever have been held at all? Let’s remember that Ms. Clinton’s predecessor, Barack Obama, gave bergdahl damn near a hero’s welcome home – complete with his proud parents in the Rose Garden.
If bowe bergdahl deserted his post, left his fellow soldiers in jeopardy, and was therefore responsible for the casualties incurred when troops went out looking for him (i.e. when his disappearance might have been involuntary), he can’t be punished soon enough.
Maybe Mr. Obama, now our ex-President, would like to say a word or two about this?

Didn’t one of Obama’s minions (Susan Rice ?) state that Bergdahl served with “honor and distintion”.
Yes she did. And media looked the other way, as they did when then-President Obama feted his parents. But there’s no media bias. Honest.
