A BOLLING SPLIT

Eric Bolling, having been investigated by Fox News Channel for possible sexually-related indiscretions, is no longer with the network.

From Amber Athey’s article for dailycaller.com:

Eric Bolling, host of Fox News’ “The Specialists,” has been let go from the network after he was investigated for sexual harassment.

Fox confirmed in a statement Friday that not only are they releasing Bolling, but they are cancelling “The Specialists.” Prior to joining “The Specialists,” Bolling was a co-host of “The Five” for six years.

“Eric Bolling and Fox have agreed to part ways amicably,” the network said. “We thank Eric for his ten years of service to our loyal viewers and wish him the best of luck.”

The claims against Bolling include sending unsolicited sexual messages to other employees at the network, including pictures of his genitalia.

Did he really do that?  We don’t know.  None of the alleged messages or pictures have been made public.  And Bolling is suing the writer who broke this story – huffingtonpost.com’s Yashar Ali – for $50 million dollars.

What we do know is that Fox, either because it found evidence to back the charges up or because, with or without evidence, felt the accusations made Bolling irreparably damaged goods, got rid of him.

Let’s be honest:  that “agreed to part ways amicably” reads a lot more like “don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out”.

It will be very interesting to see what happens next;  i.e. where, if anywhere, Mr. Bolling lands professionally, and if he pursues his lawsuit against Mr. Ali.

I’ll try to keep up and give you more on this as it develops.

Very Sad Update:  Hours after I put up this blog, the shocking news was reported that Eric Bolling’s son had committed suicide.

As the father of two children, I can’t fathom what Mr. Bolling is going through right now.  My deepest condolences to him.
