In two weeks, New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez is scheduled to stand trial on charges of federal corruption.
He might well resign his seat before the trial takes place. He might well lose this trial (which is guesstimated to take about 2 months) and be removed from the senate.
In both cases, the current New Jersey Govenor, Chris Christie, would replace him – presumably with a fellow Republican and, since Christie supported Donald Trump last year, presumably with a Republican who will vote with Mr. Trump on key issues, such as replacing ObamaCare.
Wouldn’t you expect there to be a ton of media coverage about this?
OK, with that in mind I have a quick question for you: have you seen so much as one report on any of the major networks about it?
Oh, what’s that you say? Robert Menendez is a Democrat, so why would I expect any such thing?
Fair point.
Then they wonder why fewer and fewer people trust them…..
