Today’s quote comes to us from MSNBC’s long time show host, Chris Matthews – a man I used to respect.
Here is what he said yesterday, during one of his many diatribes against Senator Ted Cruz:
“Did you see his voting record on nominations? I mean, against people who are really not controversial like John Kerry and people like that, he voted against every one of them.”
John Kerry not controversial? A hardline leftist who made his name by canoodling with the enemy during the Vietnam war and who won votes for years by implying that he was Irish in heavily-Irish Massachusetts (FYI: he does not have a drop of Irish blood)? Yeah, right Chris. Everyone on both sides of the aisle has always loved him to pieces.
And your routine about Ted Cruz voting against every nomination? That should be a surprise to Ashton Carter, who Cruz voted to confirm as our new Secretary of Defense just last month…and to FBI Director Jamey Comey and Interior Secretary Sally Jewell, who Cruz also voted to confirm. (You can read all about them on Ken Shepherd’s blog at newsbusters.org).
What happened to you, Chris? How did you devolve from an intelligent, compelling writer/commentator with a talent for turning a phrase, into such a ridiculous far-left drone, who keeps veering more and more off the rails as time goes by?
I miss what Chris Matthews used to be. But that doesn’t change what he has become. So I award Chris Matthews Quote Of The Day honors….for helping to answer the question “Why is MSNBC so far down the toilet these days?”.
