Today\’s quote comes to us from “Morning Joe” regular Mark Halperin – hardly a fan of the Republican right – who was honest enough to say this about the IRS\’s beyond-BS claim to have lost the emails of lois “liar” lerner and six other IRS people currently under investigation:
“Becausewhen any government agency, particularly one as powerful as the IRS,engages in something that even people sympathetic to the admissionsays looks weird and suspicious, it\’s incumbent on all of thenational media to aggressively ask more questions. The Republicans inCongress are asking questions. I think with a differentadministration, one that was a Republican administration, this storywould be a national obsession, and, instead, it\’s getting coveragehere and a few other places. But it deserves a lot more questions.”
That\’s about the nicest way I can think of to say “They\’re full of crap, everyone knows they\’re full of crap, and the only reason this isn\’t a huge lead story is that the lying frauds who are perpetrating this farce are Democrats rather than Republicans.”
But, given that we\’re talking about an MSNBC show, and given that Halperin is usually on the other side of the aisle, I award him Quote Of The Day honors for saying what he did, even in his sanitized, genteel way.
Any opinions on Operation Fast and Furious, Mark?
