Have you read all of this morning’s articles attacking Carl Bernstein for saying, in so many words, that there are “different truths” – i.e. media people see and present their version of the truth and they don’t always coincide?
Neither did I.
From Daniel Chatlin’s article in the Washington Examiner, which discusses Mr. Bernstein’s comments during yesterday’s “Reliable Sources” show on CNN:
Carl Bernstein depicted the contentious nature of politics as being in the middle of a “cold civil war” as President Trump pushes back against what he calls “fake news” and various news outlets are perceived as espousing different “truths.”
Am I getting this wrong, or didn’t Kellyanne Conway say exactly the same thing – using the term “alternative facts” – just a couple of months ago? And wasn’t she unmercifully reamed for it?
Gee, I guess you can say the same thing and it’s either OK or an outrage…depending on which side of things the people talking about it are on.
That’s an important point to remember….while chuckling over the fact that CNN has a show named “Reliable Sources”.

Or whether you are male or female.
