Today, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) formally submitted article of impeachment against President Trump
So far the number of house members joining him on the impeachment bandwagon is…
…one.
That leaves Mr. Sherman 216 votes short.
Considering the cost -making so complete an idiot of himself that almost all his Democrat house colleagues are running for cover – maybe this wasn’t such a great move.
But don’t worry about Mr. Sherman. He represents a safer-than-safe district, which he won last year with 72.4% of the vote. So this ridiculous exercise in nothingness will not cost him a thing.
However, if Republicans in competitive districts use it to their advantage, it just might cost a few of his fellow Democrats seats that could have been theirs.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Democrats in safe districts – who, therefore, don’t have to worry about the consequences of their actions – are among the most potent assets the Republican Party has.
I wonder why Maxine [impeach Trump] Waters isn’t on board with this???
I assume she’ll quickly jump on. I expect a few dozen more to do so – virtually all of them safe-seaters. If I were a Republican I would thank every one of them, because it is sophomoric, obnoxious stunts like this that have lost the Democrat Party the presidency, both houses of congress, a majority of governorships and a majority of statehouses.
