THE PARAGRAPHS OF THE DAY

Today’s paragraphs come to us from Ben Shapiro, at dailywire.com, talking about CNN’s unbelievably stupid – not to mention unethical and anti-journalistic – reaction to the person it believes* to have supplied that video of Donald Trump body-slamming someone who has a CNN logo superimposed over his face:

It was difficult for CNN to find a way to screw up the story. Here was President Trump tweeting out juvenile insults at them. All they had to do was scoff and point out that Trump is the president, not some 4chan s***poster. This was a gimme.

(CNN’s reaction is essentially blackmail. That’s CNN stating that it will out the guy if he dares to defy their political perspective or offends them sufficiently.

CNN has accomplished the Houdini-esque feat of turning itself into the villain after President Trump tweeted a gif of himself body-slamming the CNN logo and punching it. This should demonstrate once again that Trump isn’t ruining CNN — CNN is so obsessed with Trump that it’s busily ruining whatever is left of its credibility.

By all rights, Donald Trump should never, ever have gotten away with posting this puerile idiocy.  Yet the geniuses at CNN, no doubt thinking they had him dead to rights, proceeded to act in a way that turned the focus away from Trump and squarely on them instead.

I would not have thought that possible.  But there it is, in front of my eyes.

I award Ben Shapiro – who is far from a fan of Donald Trump’s – Paragraphs Of The Day honors for providing us with plain, logical talk about one of the ways CNN is self-immolating….plain, logical talk that CNN, at least so far, is determined not to hear.

*There are numerous reports that they didn’t even get the right guy – that President Trump got the video from someone else.  Can this “news network” ever get anything right?
