Did you know that there has been a major change in the size of the White House staff since Donald Trump replaced Barack Obama as President?
But before you make any assumptions about how the difference came to be, I suggest you read the following excerpt from Thomas Phippin’s article at dailycaller.com:
Trump employs 377 people at the White House, with a total of $35.8 million, while former President Barack Obama paid $40.9 million for 476 employees in 2015, according to data analyzed by Open The Books. (RELATED: White House Releases Employee Salaries)
Another key difference between the Obama and Trump White House is the first lady’s staff. Michelle Obama retained 24 staffers in the first year of the Obama White House. Melania Trump currently employs four — a chief of staff who is also listed as advisor to the president, a deputy chief of staff, a communications director, and a scheduler.
Maybe it’s that Donald and Melania Trump are used to living singularly opulent lives. Maybe they need less White House staff than their predecessors because they have staff of their own to take care of things. I truly don’t know.
But that is a big difference.
And reading about how much staff was handed to Michelle Obama – who had no official duties and was never elected to anything – did nothing for the health and well being of my digestive tract.
How about yours?
