TRUMP OUSTER: THE MEDIA’S ALL-OUT EFFORT

This is it.  Media, the vast majority of which hate Donald Trump with a passion, think they’ve got him dead to rights.  And, as an organized, well oiled unit, they are moving forward in an all-out effort to remove him from office.

Can they do it?  Maybe and maybe not.

Let’s review what has happened in the past few days.

The basis of this entire brouhaha is an article which appeared in Sunday’s Washington Post, claiming that, during his well-publicized/nothing secret about it meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, President Trump imparted highly classified information to Mr. Lavrov.

The source of this information?  Unnamed – no way to check.

The Trump administration’s reaction?  The story was false.  According to National Security Adviser. General H. L. McMaster – who is highly regarded (at least until he dared to back up the Trump administration):

“The story that came out tonight, as reported, is false….the President and the Foreign Minister reviewed common threats from terrorist organizations to include threats to aviation. At no time, were any intelligence sources or methods discussed and no military operations were disclosed that were not already known publicly.”…”I was in the room.  It didn’t happen”.

If we had anything approaching a neutral media, that would have ended things until further information was obtained about who fed the Post this accusation.

But we do not have anything approaching a neutral media, so all we have heard since then is relentless attacks on Donald Trump, based on the assumption that the story is true and his people are lying.

The fact that, less than a year ago (June 30, 2016), the same Washington Post reported President Barack Obama offered to share highly classified information with Russia – exactly what Mr. Trump is accused of?  Doesn’t matter.  It was barely reported at the time, and certainly never projected into some kind of major scandal – not even by the Washington Post which is having an apoplexy over Trump.

The fact that, in any event, The President is in charge of what is or isn’t classified and has the legal right to offer such information?  That doesn’t matter either.  This is Trump we’re talking about.

So, to review, let’s understand that the genesis of this entire attempted  media-created coup d’etat is:

-an unconfirmed story

-about something that would not be illegal if it were true

-which is being denied by the administration

-and which was offered by the previous administration, without so much as a ruffle of feathers from the same media now using it to try and remove Donald Trump from office.

I’ll be writing more about this today – including the ludicrous-bordering-on-insane media  usage of James Comey.  But I want what you just read to stand by itself.

Let me end with another piece of  information -absolutely indisputable because it was captured in public on a hot mic – showing that, in 2012,  after a discussion about missile defense, President Obama promised then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he would have more flexibility – presumably to provide sensitive information to Russia – after he was re-elected.

Here is the verbatim dialog:

Obama: “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”

Medvedev: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir, and I stand with you.”

And here is the video:

Do I know that’s what he meant by “more flexibility”.  Nope, can’t prove it…any more than media can prove Trump did a thing wrong with Sergey Lavrov.

Now, tell me again, media – you folks who virtually ignored this – about how insignificant what President Obama did promise was, and how terrible what Trump may have said was.
