Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein should resign if he will not appoint a special prosecutor to probe ties between Russian officials and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, two top Democrats demanded on Friday.
Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and top Judiciary Committee Democrat Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) became the first Senate Democrats to make such an explicit rebuke of Rosenstein, who has been invited to brief all 100 senators on Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey. Feinstein also called for hearings to “get to the bottom of this.”
My first reaction? “Get to the bottom of…” WHAT?
For over half a year, Democrats have moved heaven and earth for to find something – anything – that shows collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. And they have found exactly no hard evidence whatsoever, as admitted – albeit ruefully – by Democrat Senator Tim Murphy just last week.
But, ever hopeful that it will turn into something meaningful to people outside their hardline base, and with media complicity Republicans can only dream about, they are clinging to it – even as it becomes clearer and clearer that most people either don’t care, or did once but have gotten past the “issue”.
Two days ago I put up evidence -not speculation, but hard evidence straight from the New York Times (Trump Hatred Central), that if there were Russian interference in the 2016 election it almost certainly would have been on Hillary Clinton’s behalf, not Donald Trump’s.
Clinton, as Secretary Of State, materially helped Russia gain control of something like 20% of the United States’ uranium reserves, during which millions of dollars poured into the Clinton foundation from Russia, and husband Bill Clinton, personally, got a whopping $500,000 speaking fee from “a Russian investment bank with links to the Kremlin that was promoting Uranium One stock.”
Have you caught wind of any Democrats demanding that THIS be investigated?
The Russian collusion story is more and more ridiculous every day. As are Democrat attempts to keep it on life support.
If President Trump can control himself enough to stop tweeting about this silliness, it might even just go away.
Too bad for him that, so far, he has not been able to to so.

President Obama was running for re-election in March 2012, when a live microphone picked up Obama’s whispered conversation with outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
Obama told Medvedev it was important for incoming President Vladimir Putin to “give me space” on missile defense and other difficult issues and that after the 2012 presidential election he would have “more flexibility.” Medvedev said he would “transmit” the message to Putin.

Zeke – exactly right. I’ve pointed this out numbers of times…and am perpetually disgusted by the fact that – even with video and audio of those words – media are determined to ignore it. Sometimes I think they are in an industry-wide competition to win the Joe Isuzu Award for Overtly Dishonest Reporting

just to add, russia wrapped up the deal in 2013. i guess that obama flexibility had kicked in.
