THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today\’s quote comes to us from the increasingly bizarre Chris Matthews – a writer/commentator who used to be worth paying attention to, but has become so subservient to his far-left masters that, with a painted smirk on his face, he does little now but mind-numbingly recite the words they want to hear.

Here, from yesterday\’s “Hardball” show, is his comment about Republican attacks on the Obama White House\’s role in Susn Rice\’s blatantly dishonest claims, made on five different news shows the Sunday after Benghazi:

“Thelanguage coming out of these people couldn\’t be more horrendous, given the fact that there\’s hardly even a nuance of differencebetween what we\’re learning now and what we learned a long time agoabout the tragedy that occurred in Benghazi. By the way, would weplease all remember that Ambassador Chris Stevens was a grown-up, aserious professional of sound mind. He decided to go out there tothat risky facility that night. He made that decision whichambassadors have to make. It turned out to be a horrific situation mewalked into. But the idea that somebody else should have beencovering for him, that someone else should have the army therewaiting to defend him, I think it\’s a little ridiculous.”

My reaction to this quote, in its order of appearance:

-If finding out that the Obama administration\’s deputy chief of security specifically prepped Rice to lie about what happened is not “hardly even a nuance of difference” from what we already knew, then how come Matthews hasn\’t been attacking the administration for lying to our faces all this time instead of defending it?  Does he favor lying?  Playing politics on the dead bodies of Benghazi victims?  Covering for terrorists by pretending a video was the reason for this attack?

-Can Matthews really believe that no high security alert or contingency plans on 9/11, when terrorist would most like to strike us, can be explained away by admonishing the victims?  Tossing out a comment that Ambassador Stevens knew the job was dangerous when he took it, as if that equated to no expectation of security?  Would he tell that to Ambassador Stevens\’ family and friends?

-Is Matthews so far gone that the concept of the United States protecting its Ambassador – especially in a terrorist-infested part of the world like Libya – is “ridiculous”?  Who does he think should do it?  The effing tooth fairy?

-And why is there no mention in this commentary of the other three people who died in that massacre?  Is it because since Matthews apparently considers Ambassador Stevens\’ to be expendable, Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith and Glen Doherty aren\’t worth mentioning at all?

This strong a level of robotic fealty to the left should not go unnoticed.  Therefore Chris Matthews is awarded Quote Of The Day honors for making one of the most profoundly insensitive, dishonest, subservient, obnoxious statements about Benghazi you are ever likely to come across.
