“Is this the saddest day in in the history of the White House since the British burned it to the ground in 1814?”
That is quite a question. It suggests something of earth-shaking importance took place in the White House. Maybe a declaration of war? An executive order banning free speech and assembly? A National Guard attack on the Senate Chamber?
Nope. The person offering this shattering opinion was Joy Behar, on yesterday’s edition of The View, and the cataclysmic event which prompted her opinion was that Kid Rock, Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent were in the White House on Wednesday for some event, and posed for a picture in front of Hillary Clinton’s portrait:
And, in case you think this kind of “thinking” is unique to Ms. Behar, The View’s co-host, Sunny Hostin, reacted by saying “I think so”, thus agreeing with her.
I would call Joy Behar a mindless idiot and Sunny Hostin a mindless idiot supporter. But I have nothing against mindless idiots.
Rodney Dangerfield used to talk about working a club in Jersey called Nunzio’s. His line was “To get into Nunzio’s, you had to take three steps down physically…and socially”. Very funny.
Sometimes I think that, to watch The View, you have to take six steps down intellectually. Not funny at all.
