Following, via mediaite.com, is a report aired on CBS News Radio-Chicago, on the kidnapping, assault and abuse/humiliation, of a special-needs teenager.
Please use the link and listen to it, or read the verbatim text below…
…and then tell me if you can find a more egregious example of “fake news”:
Unnamed CBS Reporter: A viral video of a beating and knife attack in Chicago suggests the assault had racial overtones. CBS’s Dean Reynolds tells us the victim is described as a mentally challenged teenager.
(audio from the video footage)
Dean Reynolds: In the video he is choked and repeatedly called the n-word. His clothes are slashed and he is terrorized with a knife. His alleged captors repeatedly reference Donald Trump.
CBS Reporter: Police are holding four people in connection with the attack.
Hearing or reading that, would you have any doubt that a “mentally challenged” Black teenager was assaulted by four White racists?
Would you have any way of knowing that, in reality, the races were reversed – i.e. the “mentally challenged” teenager was White and his racist assailants were Black?
There is no way on God’s green earth this was an accident. It was not some misspelled or inadvertently-placed word, or a phrase that could be interpreted two different ways. This was deliberately written, and reported, to give listeners the exact wrong information.
WHY? Why would CBS intentionally make it seem like this was White racism instead of Black racism? Is CBS afraid of a news story showing that Blacks are every bit as capable of racism as Whites?
Asking again: can you find a more egregious example of fake news than this?
Or a more pathetic attempt to lie about a racial incident?
If so, let’s see it.
If not, please join me in demanding that CBS not just apologize for its disgraceful manipulation of the news, but explain why it happened, and what is being about the person or persons who deliberately wrote it this way.
