We love you Kamala
Oh yes we do
We love you Kamala
And we’ll be true
When you’re not near us
We’re blue
Oh Kamala we love you
The above lyrics originated from the 1960 Broadway hit “Bye Bye Birdie”. They were originally sung by hopelessly devoted fans of the singing sensation Conrad Birdie.
But this new incarnation, with the name changed from Conrad to Kamala, reflects media’s love affair with the current version of Kamala Harris (not that they weren’t in love with the previous version, a month or two ago, when she had different positions on just about every issue).
I rhink the Kamala lovers they should use the above lyrics today. They could rename the show “Bye Bye Biden” – you know, Biden being the guy they loved unconditionally too…until the polls said he probably would lose the election, so they unceremoniously dumped him and his 14 – 15 million primary votes in favor of a cackling flyweight who will not subject herself to any media scrutiny – not that this bothers most of our mainstream media in the least.
Doubt me? Read Charlotte Alter’s just-published hagiographic love-affair article in what is left of Time Magazine, which makes Mother Teresa and Joan of Arc look like sloppy seconds. And then try to find mainstream media which think less of her (yes, there are some, but they are few and far between).
Why do they love Kamala Harris?
Is it because she is a left wing Democrat woman of color, whose all-of-a-sudden strong words on border security, strong law enforcement, and her steal of Donald Trump’s months-old “no more tax on tips” promise make her look good enough to win…and to maybe bring along both houses of congress so that those dastardly Republicans have no power at all? That’s for you to decide.
But for the moment – until she’ll actually have to say something/answer for her sudden switcheroos on major issues and the dam breaks (which I am virtually 100% certain will happen – and relatively soon), the “We love you Kamala, Oh yes we do” serenade will continue to resonate.
Let me end with this thought for the singers of those lyrics, whose love affair with Kamala Harris parallels that of Charlotte Alter at Time Magazine: enjoy it while you can.
Why? Because a candidate with no salable credentials to anyone but the left, no answer for “how come so many of your positions suddenly changed when the polls showed they’ll lose you the election, no capability of intelligently answering questions on any other subject, and whose staff turnover has been an unheard-of 92.5% because she is impossible to work with, can’t be protected for 2 1/2 more months, even if you try everything you can to make it happen.
