“I was appointed by a fella I ran against when I was 29-years-old to the Naval Academy. I was one of ten, I wanted to play football.
“‘The day I was supposed to go down for the interview, a class mate of mine who was also one of the ten appointed to be chosen from.
“He came to pick me up, I found out two days earlier that they had a quarterback named Roger Staubach and a halfback named Joe Bellino. I said oh I’m not going there, I went to Delaware.”
What you just read is a verbatim quote from President Joe Biden’s commencement address to graduates of the United States Military Academy West Point.
The problem? Every part of it is untrue.
There is no record of Joe Biden ever being appointed to the Naval Academy. A comprehensive search – made two years ago, when he initially lied about this supposed event in his life – turned up no evidence it ever happened.
And by the year that his opponent for the Senate (J. Caleb Boggs) supposedly appointed him – 1965 – both Staubach (1964) and Bellino (1961) had already graduated from the Naval Academy.
This means either Biden was lying about everything, or that his mental acumen is diminished to the point where he thinks things happened that didn’t.
Which of those two possibilities makes him capable of being President – not just for an additional four years, but right now?
The answer is neither.
I do not know how they can possibly run him for President this year. I expect him to be replaced.
How and by whom? That’s the big question.
