In case you think Hillary Clinton\’s email scandal is the only one brewing…..

Excerpted from Amy Chozick\’s piece for the New York Times:

Afederal judge on Friday ruled on behalf of Citizens United, aconservative advocacy group, in its lawsuit against the StateDepartment for documents related to Hillary Rodham Clinton\’s tenurethere.

JudgeGladys Kessler of the United States District Court for the Districtof Columbia ordered the State Department to produce passengermanifests from 47 overseas trips that Mrs. Clinton made as secretaryof state. Citizens United requested the manifests last July through aFreedom of Information Act Request.

TheState Department, the judge wrote, must release the first batch ofrecords by April 3, with more being released every two weeks; all thedocuments must be given to the group no later than Aug. 1.

Thegroup requested the flight manifests to examine whether ClintonFoundation donors had accompanied Mrs. Clinton on State Departmenttrips.

CitizensUnited has made 18 FOIA requests for information, none of which havebeen fulfilled.

Requestsfor public records requests have been complicated or made impossiblebecause of Mrs. Clinton\’s exclusive use of a private email addresswhile she was at the State Department. The Associated Press filed alawsuit this week against the State Department to force the releaseof outstanding documents requested through FOIA.

Let\’s get something straight right from the git-go:  this is not some piling-on exercise concocted while Ms. Clinton was still reeling from the fact that mainstream media have not given her a free pass on the email scandal.  Citizens United made those requests a long time ago…and Ms. Clinton has ignored them until now.

Will she ignore a federal judge\’s order too?

Basic logic tells me that the more Hillary Clinton tries to prevent or stave off the release of this information, the more it is reasonable to conclude they contain information that is damaging to her.

Years after Richard Nixon resigned the presidency in disgrace, Democrats and their supporters used to deride Republican presidential prospects by noting that “Nixon is tanned, rested and ready” – the implication being that even the disgraced Nixon was a better alternative than what they had.

Maryland\’s former Democrat Maryland Governor, Martin O\’Malley, a relative unknown with no substantial campaign apparatus and (shades of Hubby Bubba) a past which includes an alleged messy extra-marital affair with a news reporter, has made sounds about entering the presidential race as an alternative to Ms. Clinton.

It may not be long before O\’Malley\’s own party is asking how tanned, rested and ready he is.
