Rice-A-Roni used to advertise itself as “The San Francisco Treat”.  Maybe it still does.

Condoleezza Rice, however, may wind up being a treat for all of California.

Though she has not declared a candidacy to replace retiring Senator Barbara Boxer or, for that matter, said she was even interested in doing so, a new Field Poll was released today showing Ms. Rice ahead of California\’s Attorney General Kamala Harris, the leading Democrat aspirant and only formally announced candidate.

Look, we\’re talking almost two years in the future, and a lot can happen between now and then.  But it certainly gives us something to think about – and, given Condoleezza Rice\’s popularity, just might give California Democrats more than a few restless nights\’ sleep.
