Can Barack Obama\’s ego be so immense that, out of personal dislike for Benjamin Netanyahu…and for Israel….he would keep Israel in the dark about US-Iran negotiations on a nuclear deal?

Europeanofficials have confirmed that the US State Department cautioned themagainst providing Israel with sensitive information on the currentround of negotiations with Iran over its alleged nuclear weaponsprogram, The New York Times reportedTuesday.

Theaccount came amid vehementdenials by the White House and State Department that they hadstopped updating Jerusalem on the progress in the talks, even thoughPrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted Monday that Israel wasindeed being kept in the dark.

Thecomments echoed those of an Israeli official interviewed for thereport who quipped that he received only “empty”briefings on the looming deal, signalling perhaps a further chill inties between the Obama administration and the Jewish state that TheNew York Times compared to “posting notes to each otheron a refrigerator door.”

Can this possibly be?  Can the President of the United States be so thin-skinned, so personally vindictive, that he would withhold such information from Israel?

Let\’s remember that Iran is a) the single most prolific exporter of terror in the world today and b) has made 100% clear its intent to wipe Israel off the map…which nuclear weaponry, effectively used, could certainly accomplish.

We are not talking about some silly political skirmish here.  We are not talking about whether or not a couple of lanes on a bridge are open to traffic.  We are talking about life and death for one of our staunchest allies.

Every time I wonder how this presidency could get worse, Mr. Obama shows me.  How I wish he didn\’t, but he does.

Less than two years to go in this nightmare administration.  I count the seconds.
