As the mayor of Portland and the Governor of Oregon get full media coverage assuring everyone that Portland is perfectly safe/fine/nothing happening here to warrant troops… …I thought you might like to see this. Does it tell you anything? I thought so. End of blog.

Today’s quote comes to us from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). During a government shut-down in 2013, when Republicans shut down the government because they did not want certain policies in place (ObamaCare among them). Here is what Schumer said at that time: “What if I persuaded my caucus to say I’m going to shut the government down, I am going to not pay our bills...
Sasha Stone is a highly successful writer, mostly in the realm of Hollywood/the movie industry. She is also a former Democrat who, in recent years, has drifted away from her preferred party; not because her views have changed, but – as Ronald Reagan put it when he did the same – the Democrat Party left her. Ms. Stone’s latest commentary for the Washington Examiner, titled...
Other than making sure his hair is well oiled and in place, is there anything Gavin Newsom has done successfully as Governor of California? Here is his latest disaster – as described in Barnini Chakraborty’s article for the Washington Examiner: Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) was all smiles two years ago when he signed the FAST Recovery Act, creating a $20 minimum wage for fast-food...

Look at us!!” component – most especially for greta thunberg, who gets another opportunity to have her face splashed across media while accomplishing exactly nothing? Just asking…
In the past several days I have read several articles suggesting that, currently, there is a lot more right wing violence in this country than left wing violence. The “proof” of this always seems to elude me. For example, one article I read listed off a number of far right groups, most of which I had never heard of, but not one instance of them doing anything violence – the premise being, I...
60 senate votes were needed to prevent a government shut-down. Yesterday a vote was taken to keep the government funded, exactly as-is, for another 7 weeks – presumably while the two parties tried to hash out their differences. 60 votes were needed to keep it going. But it failed. The vote was 55 – 45…with all but one Republican voting to keep government going and all but...
Zsa Zsa Gabor was a minor entertainment celebrity who parlayed her few accomplishments into decades of media attention. This caused her, as the clever phrase described, to “be famous for being famous”… …which leads us, I would think, straight to greta thunberg. Exactly who is greta thunberg and what has she accomplished, other than getting tons of media coverage? If...
