YATES GETS THE GATE: NEW YORK TIMES STYLE

The headline of this morning’s New York Times – in atypically large print across the entire front page – and sub-head, are:

TRUMP FIRES JUSTICE CHIEF WHO DEFIED HIM

Crisis After Acting Leader’s Refusal to Defeend Order on Migrants’ Travel

I have a question:  do you feel the country is in crisis?  Has nuclear war been declared?  Have martians landed and cloned 1,000 madonnas and ashley judds?

What has happened is that an acting Attorney General – a holdover from the previous administration who was not appointed to to this position but inherited it, and who, in the normal course of things, would have been removed from her position before this week is out – decided to defy the President of the United States.  The President, who has full power to remove this person from her temporary perch, did so.

Yawn.

But the New York Times, which has displayed a pathological hatred of Donald Trump that borders on insanity, decided to try and make fools of its readers by positioning this as a “crisis”.

I wonder when someone does the Times’ “brain trust”, such as it is, a major kindness and tells them the only result of this headline/sub-head is that it makes them look even more ridiculous than they have looked for months.

Incidentally, I don’t use the phrase “pathological hatred” lightly.  Later on today, I’ll blog about just the Times’ Monday and Tuesday editions and how many individual attacks on Trump they contain – with not a word from anyone who supports him.
