What if Bernie Sanders won Kentucky?
But wait, you might say: Hillary Clinton won. Only by a tiny amount – fewer than 2,000 out of about 450,000 votes cast. But a win is a win.
Well, Mr. Sanders isn’t so sure of that.
Excerpted from an article from Reuters, via huffingtonpost.com:
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Tuesday requested a recount in the close Kentucky presidential primary against front-runner Hillary Clinton, state election officials said on Tuesday.
Clinton won Kentucky by just 1,924 votes, according to the unofficial totals posted on the secretary of state’s elections page. She won Jefferson County, which includes Louisville and is the largest by far of the state’s 120 counties, by nearly 10 times that amount
In his filing on Tuesday, Sanders requested a full check and recount of every voting machine and absentee ballot from all precincts in the counties, according to Grimes’ website.
Asking again: What if Bernie Sanders won Kentucky?
And what if it becomes evident that vote-counting fun and games was responsible for the it looking like he did not? What then?
Does anyone put anything past Hillary Clinton, or her BFF Debbie Wasserman Schultz over at the Democratic National Committee?
I’ll retain an open mind about the result of this recount until it takes place. But I would lie to tell you a reversal of fortune for Ms. Clinton and Mr. Sanders would surprise me in the least.
