Twaddle: noun: Trivial, feeble, silly or tedious talk or writing.
Donald Trump lost Iowa\’s Republican primary caucuses. He lost despite receiving more media coverage than any other candidate – possibly more media coverage than every other candidate combined.
So what did Mr. Trump have to say about this? Well, here is what he tweeted:
“My experience in Iowa was a great one. Istarted out with all of the experts saying I couldn\’t do well there and endedup in 2nd place. Nice.”
“Because I was told I could not do well inIowa, I spent very little there – a fraction of Cruz & Rubio. Came in astrong second. Great honor.”
Yeah, ok, sure Donald.
“All the experts” said you couldn\’t do well? That\’s very credible, especially after all those polls said you\’d win. And we\’ll forget the fact that Cruz and Rubio had to spend money, to get just a fraction of the coverage media were giving you for free.
See, now everything you tweeted makes sense.
It is a decent bet – not a lock, but a decent bet – that Trump will win New Hampshire. Then we head south and, with a little luck, Republican primary voters will give him a lesson in the difference between ego and reality. At least I hope so.
Incidentally, if I had a dollar for every time Donald Trump tossed out a “they all said” or “everyone told me” or any word in the superlative “est” tense, in a few months I\’d probably be able to retire wealthy.
