Trevor Fitzgibbon.
Unless you\’re a real political junkie (and if you\’re reading this blog, that is at least a possibility) or in the Public Relations business, you have almost certainly never heard of him. But you should have.
Until last Friday, Fitzgibbon ran a highly successful Public Relations outfit which specialized in boosting the fortunes of Democrats – preferably as far left as possible. In fact, it was Fitzgibbon who came up with the durable “War on Women” tag that Democrats have used against Republicans/conservatives all these years.
So what happened last Friday…and how come you haven\’t heard about it?
Media Bias: Fitzgibbon Media, a left-wing public relationsgiant, shut down suddenly Friday in a huge sex-harassment scandal. The press isstrangely silent, which wouldn\’t be the case if this progressive firm was onthe right.
Remember the War OnWomen? That was the campaign pitch used in recent elections to smearconservatives as ogres.
It was a phrase usedby FitzGibbon Media, a left-wing PR firm…
…But actual dirty deedswere going on inside one of the very crafters of that “narrative.”Founder Trevor FitzGibbon has been accused by his leftist employees and even hisclients of soliciting naked pictures, demanding sex and harassing withimpunity. Slate noted that it was “an open secret.” In other words,it was known to the press for years, which did nothing.
Instead, employeesexposed the harassment. FitzGibbon called it “a distraction” beforeshutting his company down. Even with 30 employees laid off just beforeChristmas, the mainstream press has said nothing.
I have a question for you: If a Public Relations firm which specialized in boosting the fortunes of Republicans/Conservatives and taking down Democrats, were taken down in a major sex scandal, do you think the mainstream media would have, almost in its entirety, looked the other way? Allowed it to pass with virtually no coverage?
We both know the answer, don\’t we?
The first two words of IBD\’s editorial are “media bias”. No truer words have ever been spoken.
Anyone who thinks media bias does not pervade our news coverage is living in a dream world.
