TMDS (TRUMP MEDIA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME) CONT.

Why do they do it?  Can their hatred of Donald Trump really be so intense that they have to lie about what he says right after he says it?

Evidently, the answer is yes.

The latest example of TMDS involves Trump’s comment about what is featured in D.C.’s Smithsonian and other museums.

First let me show you the headline from ABC News’ article (just one example of many):

Trump says Smithsonian should focus on America’s ‘Brightness,’ not ‘how bad Slavery was’

That’s pretty clear.  If you read no further, you now “know” that President Trump said we should start talking about how “bright” America is, and drop slavery down into the “and there was other stuff” category.  The guy must think slavery wasn’t so bad after all, right?  What a pathetic, racist jerk…

…except…

…here is his full comment, verbatim:

“The Smithsonian is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been — Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future.

“We are not going to allow this to happen, and I have instructed my attorneys to go through the Museums, and start the exact same process that has been done with Colleges and Universities where tremendous progress has been made,” Trump added. “This Country cannot be WOKE, because WOKE IS BROKE. We have the ‘HOTTEST’ Country in the World, and we want people to talk about it, including in our Museums.”

Hey, wait a minute.  He did not say that.  Not the way ABC News’ headline suggests.

He did not say that slavery – among other examples (he cited three, not just slavery) –  should be downplayed in any way.

What he did say was a) these negatives should not be the exclusive focus at the Smithsonian (and other museums), and b) the positive aspects of our country should be featured as well, and should be the major focus.

A bit of a difference between that and the ABC headline, wouldn’t you say?

Well, just add this to the pile.  Put it somewhere near “nazis are very fine people” and “you should inject bleach into yourself”.

And then these “journalists” wonder why fewer and fewer people trust them.
