From a just-published article in the Jerusalem Post:
Hamas reiterated its rejection on Saturday for any hostage deal without Israel first meeting a series of the terror organization’s demands.
“We affirm our national position that there will be no agreement or exchange deal with the occupation except with a comprehensive cessation of aggression, the return of the displaced, full [Israeli] withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, provision of shelter and reconstruction, stopping the siege, opening crossings, and delivering aid,” Hamas wrote.
Got that? hamas will favor Israel for the return of some – not all, but some – hostages (from among those who are still alive; it’s a near-certain bet a good many are no longer living which, given what hamas does with Israelis they control, means they may be the lucky ones)…
… and all Israel has to do is provide a complete cease-fire, give over Palestinian Arab prisoners (not innocent hostages, prisoners), completely withdraw from Gaza facilitate the rebuilding of Gaza, leave the Gaza border open so hamas can enter Israel any time they care to (how did that work out last October 7) and provide $$$ aid (as in the money that has made hamas leaders hugely rich while their people have little or nothing).
What a deal.
And, of course, the hamas covenant – which calls, among other things, for the annihilation of Israel (2nd paragraph), death to all Jews everywhere (article 7) and rejects any two-state solution (article 13) – remains intact.
These are the people the world demands Israel make peace with.
