THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote – and it is a truly remarkable one – comes to us from the Democrats’ presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton.  It was made during yesterday’s “60 minutes” interview with her just-selected running mate Tim Kaine, and concerns her responsibility for the Benghazi massacre:

“So when this happened in Benghazi, I immediately stood up an independent committee — distinguished Americans, military and civilian experts. They came out and they said, “You know, the ball was dropped — in security. And, you know, some of the decisions that were made, probably should have been rethought.”

“It was not my ball to carry. … Those [security reports] never reached me. Those never came to my attention,”

Can you believe what you just read?’

Until now, Ms. Clinton has been content to just lie about the reason this massacre took place – to all of us, but, most despicably, face-to-face when speaking to the bereaved families of the dead.

Now, not content with that lie, she is claiming that this wasn’t even her responsbility in the first place.

A few quick reminders:

-Ms. Clinton was the Secretary of State; the chief foreign officer of the country;

-There were numerous pleas for increased security in Benghazi, which went unheeded;

-The attack took place on 9/11 the most “triumphant” day of the year for terrorism aimed at the US – a day that every asset everywhere should have been on highest security alert…especially in Libya, a country without any seriously functioning government that we knew to be overrrun with terrorist groups.

Yet this is what we are now supposed to believe: “Hey, don’t blame me.  I didn’t know a thing about this.  Honest.  Heck, I was only the Secretary of State.  It’s not like I’m responsible for the security of people like those Ambassador types, is it?”

I award Hillary Clinton Quote Of The Day “honors” for her resourcefulness.  Not content to rest with the pack of lies she has always told about Benghazi, Ms. Clinton has now come up with a new one.  And just before the Democrat convention starts, too.

She makes me sick to my stomach.
