Today’s quote comes to us from pollster Nate Silver.
Here, from his X account, is Mr. Silver’s opinion of the California “election” system, which – incredibly – can take as long as a month to count all ballots :
“The fact that California elections often can’t be resolved for weeks is kind of insane and not common in other electoral systems around the world.
“Like honestly “it’s going to take us several weeks to tell you who won the election” is failed state shit and should be much more stigmatized.”
I award Nate Silver Quote Of The Day for saying something so self-evident that it is embarrassing to the state that it can be said.
Too bad he didn’t also talk about the 873,000 “ghost voters” – i.e. voters who haven’t cast ballots for multiple elections and are supposed to be dumped from the polls – whose ballots are still available and countable.
When does Silver, along with a great many more people who are supposed to care about honest elections, start wondering out loud how many opportunities this provides for the party in power – in California that would be the Democrat Party – to play games with those votes?
