Today’s quote comes to us from former Obama Chief Of Staff, then Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel.
Mr. Emanuel, it is being reported, is considering a run for the Democrat presidential nomination in 2028. He feels the party’s brand is “weak and woke” – i.e. it is destroying itself with voters – thus there is an opening for a (self-described) moderate like him.
Here, while being interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, is how he put it:
“I’m tired of sitting in the back seat when somebody’s gunning it at 90 miles an hour for a cliff.”
I doubt that Rahm Emanuel would be the answer to Democrats’ self-created problems. But I award him Quote Of The Day honors for describing his party’s current behavior so creatively…and, sad to say, so accurately.
